**************************
My name is Samantha Seng and I am a 26 year-old photographer and aspiring novelist based in the San Fernando Valley. I started Sa Vie En Rose Photography with the ideology that photos should look like photos and people should look like people, a simple enough philosophy that often goes forgotten. I believe in capturing moments with real feelings of nostalgia and storytelling. I am a firm believer of limited staging, as my process is letting things unfold naturally including my subjects' relationship with the camera. I am an advocate for composition and the idea that real magic is a derivative of several components coming together to make a great picture. I rarely believe in photoshop and stand behind the notion that editing is only meant to minimally enhance photos. I will never alter your shape or distort the color of your features, because that would not only destroy the integrity of your photos, but you as well - and you are perfect! I want to capture real, candid, intimate moments that transpire between the camera and subject. Never apologize for not knowing how to pose, because I like to shoot what's natural and not forced expressions. I like to take photos of people laughing, having a good time, and just being themselves because while I want my photos to show they are full of character, I want to show your family and friends that you, the client, is as well.

The Senior and Lifestyle Portraits I offer heavily focus on composition and how you relate to the environment around you. I believe in nature and generally encourage my clients to choose a location outdoors with great sentimental value - so we can  make use of natural lighting and familiarity. My professional goal is showcasing your personality and who you are at the time of graduation/life on print. As for my main personal priority, that is making sure you are comfortable in front of the camera. I know that being photographed can be an uncomfortable experience for some. Many clients often tell me that they don't know how to pose or that they are far from being models, but I believe there is a difference between being photogenic and being a "model." I believe that everyone is capable of taking great photos. All I require is enthusiasm, good energy, and optimism at the time of your photo shoot and I'll take it from there.

If that sounds like something you are interested in, then I can't wait to meet you! I love romantic style photos, full of nostalgia, and conceptual photography but I am open to various types of photo shoots and I am interested in what style appeals to you the most and how we can work together to achieve a collection of photographs you can be proud of.
